Visit Our favorite Independent Shop in Philadelphia
May 1, 2023
Philadelphia may not be the first city that comes to mind when searching for unique and trendy retail inspirations for your shop. But Salt and Vinegar is changing that.
Today, we want to introduce one of our favorite retail shop in Philadelphia, Salt and Vinegar, a woman owned boutique shop who offers a retail experience that is both exciting and eclectic.
The shop started in 2022 as a holiday pop-up market, but it went so well with ongoing local demands, so Jen, the owner decided to keep it.
Salt and Vinegar is a gift for the neighborhood. It offers a curated selection of products ranging from artisanal foods and beverages to handcrafted home goods and accessories. You can find anything from small-batch hot sauce to handmade pottery, and everything in between.
Owner/buyer Jen is a Food & Beverage veteran with 20 years of experience. Jen is known for her supportive and collaborative approach to working with the brands she carries. She’s committed to building relationships with small businesses and creating a space where their products can shine. This approach has not only helped Salt and Vinegar stand out from other retail shops but has also contributed to the success of the brands she carries.
Beyond her work at Salt and Vinegar, Jen is an active member of the Philadelphia community. She’s a mentor and advisor to other entrepreneurs, and she’s always looking for ways to give back. Whether it’s through community events or supporting local initiatives, Jen is dedicated to making a positive impact in the world.
Salt and Vinegar’s mission aligns perfectly with Cohere: to help amplify emerging brands and small businesses that don’t normally get attention and the capital, and serve as a sort of liaison between founders, brands and support services. And we just LOVE when these connections result in a win-win-win partnership!
Jen has shared with us some of their best sellers:
Local Philly brands:
Milk Jawn Ice Cream, Settanta Tre Gluten Free Pasta, Flakely Gluten-Free Breads and Pastries, Goodlands Hot Sauce, and Fishtown Pickles.
These small businesses offer products that are made with care and passion, and they’re a testament to the vibrant and diverse community that Salt and Vinegar supports.
Overseasoned (food pun clothing and home goods), Franklin & Whitman (candles, beauty, and body care), Goodgood Chocolates, Omsom, and Bandit Plant-based Cheese.
